Twin Lakes Names Laura McDaniel as Chief Operating Officer

BURLINGTON, NC,  August 26, 2025 — Twin Lakes Community is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura McDaniel as its new Chief Operating Officer. Her selection reflects the Board of Directors’ commitment to ensuring strong, forward-thinking leadership for the organization’s future. In addition to assuming responsibility for day-to-day operations.

“Twin Lakes has found the ideal candidate to assume the role of COO, Board Chair Jackie Cole noted that “Laura brings a deep understanding of our organization, a passion for our mission, and a proven record in team leadership, project management, and strategic planning. Most importantly, she embodies the spirit of community and service that defines Twin Lakes.”

A Leader with Deep Twin Lakes Roots

Laura McDaniel has been a valued member of the Twin Lakes team for 14 years. She currently serves as Director of Resident and Community Resources, overseeing five departments and more than 60 full-time employees. Her responsibilities span multiple areas of resident service and community outreach, and she has successfully led numerous strategic initiatives and special projects for the organization.

Laura holds a bachelor’s degree from Sewanee: The University of the South, as well as certificates in Nonprofit Management and Healthcare Management from Duke and East Carolina Universities. She is also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in North Carolina.  Prior to joining Twin Lakes, Laura worked for mission driven organizations in nonprofit service and philanthropy. She is an active community leader, having served on the boards of a number of nonprofit agencies.

Laura has expressed appreciation for her time at Twin Lakes. She notes that Twin Lakes “has a long-standing legacy of quality care, meaningful relationships, and remarkable service to the community, and I am honored to continue my journey here, where residents and staff alike create a strong community. I look forward to building on our foundation as I grow in this new role, and to continuing my commitment to the mission and future of Twin Lakes.”
