At today’s Town Hall meeting, Twin Lakes Community’s President and CEO Pam Fox introduced independent living residents to their new Medical Director, Dr. Victoria Beamer of Piedmont Senior Care.
After earning her undergraduate biology degree from Davidson College, Dr. Beamer received her master’s in biomedical sciences and medical degree from Wake Forest University. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her geriatric medicine fellowship at Duke University.
Residents learned during the meeting that Dr. Beamer focuses on practical life changes and evidence-based, patient-driven care that allows patients to do what matters most to them for as long as possible. Her professional interests include long-term and post-acute care and dementia. Board certified in family and geriatric medicine, Dr. Beamer not only serves as Twin Lakes’ new Medical Director, providing advisory services to the organization as a whole along with care for those in higher levels of care but she offers both urgent and primary care services on campus for those living independently, as well. Residents found the convenience of her on-site practice to be a welcome addition to the medical services already provided at Twin Lakes.
