Pamela Sarsfield Fox

President/Chief Executive Officer

An attorney and certified public accountant, she obtained her under-graduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from Washington and Lee University. Prior to joining the Twin Lakes staff in 2008, she spent twenty years practicing law as an estate planning attorney and providing wealth management services to affluent clients of a wealth management firm in Greensboro, North Carolina. Fox has volunteered for numerous professional, civic and church organizations in Burlington, Greensboro, and elsewhere in North Carolina. Currently she serves on the boards of New Leaf Society, United Way, and the Anatomical Gift Program at Elon University. In addition, she has held board positions with the NC Bar Association, the NCACPA, Lutheran Retirement Ministries and other not-for-profit organizations.

Laura McDaniel

Laura McDaniel

Chief Operating Officer

Laura holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Sewanee: The University of the South, along with certificates in Nonprofit Management and Healthcare Management from Duke University and East Carolina University. She is also a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in North Carolina. Prior to joining Twin Lakes, Laura worked with a variety of mission-driven organizations in nonprofit service and philanthropy. She is a graduate of Leadership Alamance and an active community leader, having previously served on the board of the Salvation Army of Alamance County and as President of the Blue Ridge Chapter of ALDE. She currently serves on the board of Alamance County Meals on Wheels.

Dedicated financial professional with nearly three decades of experience in the financial services industry. A graduate of Robert Morris University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Before entering the financial sector in 1995, Michael served honorably as a member of the U.S Army and Gulf War veteran. For the past 18 years, he has been a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise. Beyond his professional life, Michael is a devoted family man. He has been married to his wife, Jami Barnes for 30 years and is the proud father of three children.

Member of chancel choir at Front Street United Methodist Church, semi-competitive runner.

Pamela Duffy

Pamela’s practice focuses on fiduciary litigation including trust, estate, and power of attorney disputes, as well as business and complex commercial litigation. Pamela has represented beneficiaries and fiduciaries in numerous proceedings before the clerk, at the Superior Court level and in appeals, including caveats, elective share proceedings, power of attorney disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, estate administration disputes, guardianships, beneficiary designation issues arising under common law and ERISA, paternity cases to establish rights to inherit, and trust disputes over removal, modification and termination.  Additionally, she is a strong proponent of alternative dispute resolution and is certified both as a Superior Court Mediator and for matters before the Clerk by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission (NCDRC).  Pamela has been selected to the “Legal Elite” by Business North Carolina magazine (2022-2024) and has been listed as a Super Lawyer for Civil Litigation, Estate and Trust Litigation and Business Litigation since 2020. Pamela is a member of the Litigation Section and the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section of the NCBA and is a recipient of the NCBA’s 2011 Citizen Lawyer Award.  She is a current member and Past President of the Guilford Inns of Court, a Past President of the Alamance Rotary Club, and a Past Chairman of Alamance County’s United Way campaign.

Ellen Greeson

Ellen has been a member of Macedonia Lutheran since 1972 and remembers when Twin Lakes was just a challenge issued to the congregation. Her parents, Jack and Della Sigman, both were board members and husband, the late Dale Greeson served for many years. Ellen has two children, Katie Schappert and John Greeson; both are married to wonderful spouses whom she considers to be bonus children. She has three grandchildren Since retiring from teaching, she has been busy with gardening, woodworking and watercolor when not visiting her grandchildren, she enjoys traveling or playing pickleball.

Ruth Koester

Ruth Petzold Koester grew up in Rockville, MD. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, then moved to Raleigh for graduate school at NC State University where she received a PhD in Genetics. While at NCSU, she married Dave Koester and they have two daughters who are also married to wonderful partners. They have one delightful 3 year old grandson.

Ruth is boarded with the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics and became a certified laboratory director. She served as CLIA director for the DNA Identification Testing Division and retired in August of 2025 with 30 years of service at Labcorp.

Ruth is an avid reader, loves to travel and garden. She has served on the board of directors for Twin Lakes Community and Women’s Resource Center and has chaired a number of professional organization committees.

Connie Poovey

Graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975 with a B.A. in Mathematics.  Earned Master of Science in 1985 and Master of Social Work in 1998, both from UNC-Chapel Hill.  After 19 years working at AT&T in computer support and internal auditing, Mrs. Poovey joined the staff of Twin Lakes Community in June of 1998 as Director of Research and Development to explore retirement opportunities for aging parents who have adult children with Developmental Disabilities.  She was licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Nursing Home Administrator and Assisted Living Administrator and served as the Administrator for Deacon Pointe Assisted Living, as well as Moneta Springs Memory Care, an innovative program and facility providing multi-level care for residents living with dementia.  She then served as Quality Assurance Officer, supporting HIPAA initiatives, emergency response procedures and nursing policies & procedures.  She retired in 2018 and moved with her husband to Twin Lakes in June 2023.
